Savage Words offers different levels of editing to suit your needs.

The degree of editing required for each job will depend on the standard of the copy submitted and its purpose. This will be determined with you at the briefing stage, with the editorial brief tailored to fit the precise requirements of each job. Savage Words’ editorial services can be summarised into three levels:

Proofreading

Submitted manuscript is well-organised with generally acceptable grammar and style. No major reworking required. Small grammatical and stylistic corrections to existing text. Grammar, punctuation, spelling. Adherence to house style guidelines, including formatting references.

Editing

Text requires more in-depth editing and reworking. Certain amount of reorganisation of text required to clarify the meaning and improve flow. Grammar, punctuation and spelling corrections. Adherence to house style guidelines, including references.

Heavy editing

Extensive reworking and reorganisation of text, with some sections requiring full rewriting. We will discuss extensive amendments with you to ensure your intended meaning is conveyed. Grammar, punctuation and spelling corrections, and adherence to house style guidelines.

Copywriting

Savage Words offers copywriting services. This could involve originating copy, writing a summary or rewriting existing content that needs refreshing or updating.

Brief-to-production service

Savage Words can also manage the layout/design process (briefing the designer, managing the layout approval process and amendments) and, if required, production (printing arrangements and delivery of hard copies). We work closely with a number of graphic designers and can recommend someone to meet your design needs. A partial production service could involve us liaising with the designer to manage and check amendments after the proofreading stage.
